Kaiser Suidan

Kaiser Suidan is a first-generation Lebanese American ceramic artist based in Metro Detroit. Growing up in Milford, Michigan, he discovered clay in junior high, where his early talent quickly emerged. His love of gardening, working with the earth, and organic forms naturally led him to explore clay as his primary medium. He later earned a full scholarship to the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, graduating with honors.

Kaiser’s work explores order, structure, and geometry through grids, cubes, and other modular forms, using color and light to create the illusion of depth and space. From an early age, he received numerous awards for his ceramic work, affirming his dedication to both craft and concept.

Kaiser’s career began over 20 years ago in a small basement studio. Since then, he has grown not only as an artist but also as a businessman and entrepreneur. Gallery owner, curator, instructor, and mentor have all been added to his list of roles. He is the owner of Next Step Studio in Ferndale, where he represents and mentors artists from across the country.
